The Claddagh ring traces its origins to the 17th-century fishing village of Claddagh in County Galway, Ireland. Traditionally composed of a heart for love, hands for friendship, and a crown for loyalty, the ring is believed to have been first crafted by Richard Joyce, a goldsmith captured abroad who created the design for his beloved upon his return.
